ABOUT BLUEBERRY BLONDE

Stunning performances, tight production, and seven new originals — Blueberry Blonde is the Dan Moss Band at their most confident. The record moves between wit and weight, romance and reckoning, never staying in one mood too long.

It opens with "Give the Keys to Mama," a tongue-in-cheek call to let women run the world after men have had their shot. The title track, "Blueberry Blonde," is a Bonnie Hayes-inspired fantasy — a romantic chase that ends in a boot to the rear, chasing hands that can't be held. "Pickled In Whiskey" sets the scene in a Saturday-night saloon where the drinks double as therapy, while "Lies, Loving and In Love" wades into the murky, shifting territory of relationships — soaring, healing, twisting.

"What On Earth Under Heaven" takes the boldest turn, drawing a line from King George III's madness to modern-day unrest, and landing on a hopeful note: love and hope prevail. "One Big Bite" offers a gentler reminder — you don't have to eat the world all at once — before the album closes with "Lights Out Blues," a plainspoken goodbye to a relationship that's run its course.

Seven songs, no filler. Enjoy.

ABOUT DAN MOSS

Rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area's rich musical soil, the Dan Moss Band blends rock, blues, jazz, and soul into a sound that's equal parts songcraft and chemistry. Frontman Dan Moss writes the lyrics and tunes, leading the band on vocals and rhythm guitar. Backing him is Tom Finch on lead guitar — a California native with over forty years behind the strings, a Gulf Coast Music Hall of Fame inductee whose resume includes touring with Big Brother & the Holding Company across the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Canada, alongside stints with Jefferson Starship, Joan Baez, and Norton Buffalo.

On bass and harmony vocals is Rob Fordyce, a Bay Area lifer and co-writer on the Blueberry Blonde album, bringing soul to every lick after years playing alongside Lenny Williams, John Hartman, Big Brother and the Holding Company, and Greg "Gigi" Gonaway. April Grisman — the band's vocal producer and "vibe master" — lends her jazz-, rock-, and R&B-influenced voice to the harmonies, having also produced the 70 Westbound album.

Holding down the low end rhythmically is Michael Pinkham on drums and percussion, trained privately by some of the Bay Area's finest and currently holding the drum chair with Circus Bella. John Varn rounds out the arrangements on piano, keyboards, and Moogs, while Christopher Krotky contributes percussion and harmony vocals — and also recorded, mixed, and engineered the Blueberry Blonde album.

Blueberry Blonde was mastered by Piper Payne of Neato! Mastering in Nashville, with album artwork and design by Patrick Sean Gibson.
